Description
Fowle – Annie Laurie, arr. for medium voice with harp accompaniment
The lyrics found in this reprinted mid-19th century edition are very close to the ones given on Wikipedia as the earliest known reworked version by Lady John Scott. Dating from 18234/35, it was published by James Lindsay of Glasgow. The original, earlier verses were attributed to William Douglas (1672-1764), a soldier who wrote about his unrequited love for Annie Laurie (1682-1764). This edition was arranged by Julia Fowle.
