Duffy Three Sparkles for the Season, Choir part
Thomas Duffy (1955- ), a Professor of Music at Yale University, has integrated his interest in science into his musical activities. Whether teaching, conducting or composing, he places a special emphasis on spoken/sung words and body rhythms. Harpist Rebecca Fay Squire, an old friend of his, commissioned him with a grant from the American Harp Society to write a work combining the Trinity Boys Choir with Harpeggios, her student harp ensemble. Thus came to life Three Sparkles for the Season, three movements of spiritual yet secular celebration of the highest human aspirations toward the light: A Time for Peace, Star Bright and Jubilate. This is an open invitation to all the harp ensembles out there! The choral parts may also be sung by girl or women’s choir.
