Snoer

Johannes SnoerJohannes Snoer (1868 – 1936) made a specialty of composing collections of short character pieces. He liked to demonstrate specific musical moods with daring modulations. He thought of his pieces as miniatures in the old German chordal tradition, referencing Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. Little masterpieces of quirky expression, these simple but complex pieces abound with flights of fancy and subliminal meaning.
